Uganda Safari Tours
Misty volcanic mountains, pristine rivers, and sunlit savannah's filled with Africa's most spectacular wildlife. Uganda is waiting to be discovered.
Uganda Safari Tours Are Raw, Rewarding and Unlike Anything Else in Africa
Uganda safari tours pack more wildlife drama, primate encounters and adrenaline into a single trip than almost anywhere else on the continent. From gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to white-water rafting on the Nile, this is East Africa at its most untamed.
Uganda doesn’t do things by halves. The drama is dialed up to maximum with mist-wrapped forests, thundering Nile rapids, and mountain gorillas so close you can hear them breathing. However, this is no polished, hand-holding destination. Roads will test your patience, rain will soak you through and drives between parks are long and bone-rattling. Yes, that’s exactly why you’ll love it. Uganda is a true adventure, just waiting for you to come and explore.
To accommodate every traveler, our Uganda safari tours range from short, intensive gorilla trekking expeditions suitable for anyone older than 15, to multi-week adventures combining savannah game drives, chimp tracking, white-water rafting and mountain trekking.

Endangered Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Few places on earth stop you in your tracks quite like Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has remained largely unchanged for over 25,000 years and shelters nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Making it the most important destination on any serious primate safari itinerary.
Trekking across Bwindi’s four sectors delivers the same extraordinary payoff: a close-up encounter with a habituated gorilla family in genuinely wild terrain. Gorilla permits in Uganda are surprisingly affordable without sacrificing an ounce of authenticity, and pairing a gorilla trek in Bwindi with golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga and downtime on the picturesque shores of Lake Mutanda makes for a primate trip you’ll remember forever. Better still, 50% of our profits go directly to education and conservation projects across Africa. So, the impact of your adventure extends far beyond the forest.

And every step counts for something bigger: travelling with a responsible tourism provider means your adventure puts money, awareness and genuine care back into the communities and wild places that make it all possible.
This trip is best done in reverse (i.e. starting in Entebbe & finishing in Kigali). If you want to avoid the crowds, we also recommend tracking chimps in Kyambura Gorge instead of Kibale.

Is a Uganda Safari Tour Worth It?
Uganda consistently surprises even the most well-travelled adventurers. It delivers extraordinary wildlife encounters, with fewer crowds and a rawness. That polished, mainstream safari destinations simply can’t match. From misty forest floors to open savannah, the sheer variety of landscapes and experiences that most travellers never see coming.
But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what adventurers who’ve made the journey have to say:
About Uganda: Africa’s Most Biodiverse Safari Destination
Uganda sits at the crossroads of East and Central Africa, where open savannah collides with ancient equatorial rainforest, volcanic highlands tumble into crater lakes, and the world’s longest river begins its journey north. Known as the Pearl of Africa, it is one of the most ecologically rich countries on the planet, And, also one of the most underrated safari destinations in the world.
Uganda is home to the highest concentration of chimpanzees in Africa. And its primate credentials are unmatched anywhere on earth. Mountain gorillas roam the forests of Bwindi & Mgahinga, chimpanzees swing through Kibale & Kyambura Gorge, and golden monkeys dart through the bamboo groves under dormant volcanoes. Uganda’s birdlife spans over 1,000 recorded species, making it a genuine bucket-list destination twitchers and wildlife enthusiasts of every kind.
Beyond the Primates: Big Five Action and Nile Adventures
Beyond the primates, Uganda’s national parks also deliver classic Big Five safari action with a fraction of the crowds found elsewhere in East Africa. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers game drives across open savannah where elephants, lions, leopards and buffalo roam, while the Kazinga Channel is one of Africa’s finest spots for bird, hippo and crocodile sightings.
Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces itself through a seven-metre gorge, adds one of the continent’s most dramatic natural spectacles in to the mix. Thrill seekers should head to Jinja to white water raft the Nile on some of the world’s best rapids, and for those seeking something truly off the beaten track, the remote Kidepo Valley is home to cheetahs, roan antelope and one of the only places in the world where entire lion prides spend their afternoons draped across ancient fig trees.
A well-planned Uganda safari typically runs 8 to 18 days, allowing enough time to move between parks without feeling rushed, though focused 3 to 5 day gorilla trekking tours are a popular option for travellers with limited time.
Churchill once called Uganda the “Pearl of Africa”, and once you’ve visited, you’ll understand exactly why.
